There’re no many chances for us to memorize 20 or 30 items in order form. If the list of items must be use, they usually written down in a note paper. If we get the list somewhere, what we will do? In the situation, the ability to associate with the list of items will be useful.

Link and story systems are useful techniques to help you remember. It can be applied to be used in classroom lectures or, using with a list of important customer, or even product line for a salesperson

The story system is to link various of items into a continuous story in a logical way. Story system and link system are similar in many ways, but there’re some differences which are:

1 Story system is a continuous story with more logical sequence than link system.

2 Story system consumes a little more time to make association because it’s logical, but for link system, you use the association that first comes to your mind.

3 It’s difficult to put more than 20 items in a story system, while using association of link system technique can be applied with more items.

4 Story system limits you to think in logical or one way story, but link system does not. With link system, you can think backward or forward.

5 Story system can help you recall 1-2 weeks later, while link system can help you recall in a lesser time.
